Boka Katorska
I’ve been a little absent lately, but actually have been absent. I am taking a summer course in Kotor, Montenegro, where the only internet is at the pub in the square with the giant tree, which only has one plug, so as my battery is about to die, here are some pictures from today. This is the water polo court— also our swimming hole. Better one later
Friskees?
It was pretty late last night and this commercial came on Hulu.
Is it just me and my being tired, or is this the strangest commercial ever? TERRIBLE song, TERRIBLE animation, and very strange idea (is the cat tripping?)
"green" architecture
Metropolis magazine put up this article about disparaging comments made by Frank Gehry about “green architecture,” and specifically LEED. Without getting too into the remarks by Gehry (so what Frank Gehry said something? Isn’t he universally thought of as a blowhard?) What about green architecture and LEED?
The best remarks I have ever heard on this topic where last month...
Kids are alright
Why do pre-teens have to be the ones to speak the most social truth?
First the ginger kid from M.I.A.’s Born Free video responds with why violence can sometimes show why violence is bad (especially when its fake— the kid’s still alive) on TMZ. Best part is how proud his mom is. Yeah, I’m proud too, little poignant one.

(I...

I like the still more than the rest of the video, but if you want to watch more, here.
Fanf***ingtastic!

Not anymore, but great font.
Something about the Christian Garden in Marzahn in Berlin I guess. I think the font is by Alexander Branczyk.

Private Collections for you to view
Two sort of amazing artists’ collections.
Architect Richard Meier has once again invited the public into his massive Long Island City warehouse to view his collection of his models. Its like final review week in a design school! With far less cursing, crying, and red bull I am guessing. {via metropolis}
And Donald Judd (who many of you know is my FAVORITE collector)’s entire...

Mauricio Arruda
I saw these a few days back and was too busy to post them, but have not stopped thinking about them since. Maruicio Arruda makes cabinets to hold those ubiquitous plastic trays. I really love them lots.
