Ralph Lauren Flagship
One of the best places to visit in New York is the Ralph Lauren Flagship store on Madison Ave. For serious. It is like what you always hoped a store on Madison Avenue would be like but they aren’t except for this one. It is in this beautiful house and is full of art and antiques and is just great. And they do not care at all that you are just there for the decor.

Formal Kitchens
My friend just bought a house (ed. was half of a pair who bought a house) in Charleston that has a grossy kitchen so she gets to redo it. Not gonna say Im not jealous. Anyway, her taste is a little more formal than mine, and she and I had a conversation about formal kitchens. This is her take on it. This is mine.
This one is just amazing. I think you pretty much need a french baroque house...

“… People say we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She...

Has all art been made? Will cinema from now on only look backwards? Is the removal of hand work as we all turn to digital cinema over 8,16,35mm responsible for the happy coma we all find ourselves in?
We must accept the possibility that animation, in regards to discussing itself, can go no further. Experimental is dead. Long live Experimental.
I guess this just bummed me out.

My friend Yelena was recently featured in the NYTimes blog profile. What a lovely write up for such a lovely gal!
Teenage Girl Empowerment Film
With ‘Girl Power’ at its helm, the late 90s played host to a resurgence of quasi-feminism in popular culture. Television series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Xena: Warrior Princess, musical groups ranging from The Spice Girls to Hole, and films such as G.I. Jane, A League of Their Own and Thelma and Louise created an illusion of a new feminist gaze in entertainment. The rise of the teenage...

Happy {day before} Easter
I highly suggest that someone with free time make these. They look amazing. Candy filled, chocolate eggs. I barely even remember what free time is anymore but would like to find some and fill it with chocolate. Cooking and crafting in one. Cool.

Every Ghetto
I was biking home last night and I kept hearing this great song from behind me. I thought it was a car that would pass, but it never did and then I got to this red light, and this bike pulled up next to me and it was this guy with boombox in the basket of his bike, and I was like “what is this song, I love it?” and he goes “mreqwheh,” and the light changed to green and we...
